All fans hungry to see Joanna Lumley's amazing beauty and sexy legs in full HD as Purdey in The New Avengers can finally rejoice with news that the first Blu-ray episode, The Last of the Cybernauts, is being released as part of a special Cybernauts Trilogy release, via Network UK. Coming soon.

Sadly, Purdey's stocking wearing was not seen in this episode. But at least the release preview trailer reveals some superb leg and thigh work of the highest quality. Looking forward to seeing the episodes Faces, Cat Amongst the Pigeons and Target re-mastered, that's for sure!

CLASSIC LUMLEY: A DREAMY NYLON BABE!

She was now officially known as Purdey by 1976 filming (a name created by Joanna Lumley with The New Avengers co-creator Brian Clemens), but the actresses wearing of stockings for the character during her early series filming was still thankfully and welcomely present, as seen in this lovely leggy promotional image taken around the time the series first title sequence was concurrently being put together.

'THE NEW AVENGERS' - 'FACES' (1976)

Creamy blue stockings are on display as Purdey takes out an assassin in this popular episode of THE NEW AVENGERS.

WELCOME TO 'JOANNA LUMLEY IN STOCKINGS AND NYLONS - AN APPRECIATION'

One of the most beautiful women on the planet, I was mesmerised by Joanna Lumley the moment I saw the first black and white picture of her in stockings and suspenders in the summer 1976 edition of PHOTOPLAY. My appreciation of this amazing woman would only increase when I saw her as Purdey in the NEW AVENGERS, when she declared in her press interviews that her character would be a "male chauvenist pig's dream", wearing stocking and suspenders and lots of other sexy underwear. And she was, and still is, gorgeous- pouting lips, wonderful figure, with perfect legs that seemed to go on forever. She was a woman to whom stockings were made to be worn. In real life, Joanna herself prefers to wear them too, saying that "they're so much prettier than tights", and at public events has shown, often accidentally, that she still wears them from time to time.

Will anyone ever forget her famous eighties charity striptease for CHILDREN IN NEED, and how amazing she looked in those black stockings and basque, or that early ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS when she wore that black mini-skirt revealing legs that are still achingly beautiful to this man's eyes. I for one certainly won't forget them!

The NEW AVENGERS may have been a long time ago now, but we can still delight in the marvellous pictures of Joanna in stockings and suspenders, admire those shapely legs of hers, and just continue to remember what a ravishing creature she is.

Though she pretends not to notice it, and accepts it as part of her fame,I bet she secretly enjoys the fact that so many men on this planet lust after her and find her so adorable! She is one of the ultimate women- sexy, attractive, intelligent and with a body to die for!
